We offer a wide variety of farm tours, from tours of our maple sugarbush to apple cider tours, tailored for groups of all ages and sizes. They range from informal, self-guided walking tours to guided wagon rides, educational tours for schoolchildren, and tours tailored for your group’s interests. Contact us to discuss your vision for a farm tour, and we’ll help you create a visit to remember. 


Maple Sugaring Tours

Visitors are welcome to come on the weekends during our Maple Syrup Celebration, when we offer ongoing informational tours in the sugar house as well as wagon rides to the sugar bush. Plenty of information is provided on an ongoing basis, and no appointment is necessary. These public tours are offered on specific Saturdays and Sundays from 9am–3pm. See our calendar for dates.


Fun and Educational Farm Tours for Kids

Our tour program goes beyond the traditional farm tours for children. Students will not only have fun; they will learn about agriculture! A variety of different tours are offered during the year, each one specially designed and adapted for various age groups. Join us for a fun farm learning experience!


Apple Cider Tours

Mid-to-End of September (level: Kindergarten–4th grade) 

Tour is roughly two hours long and includes information about:

  • honey bees and pollination (active hive)
  • growth and development of apples
  • wagon ride to the apple orchard (instruction but no picking)
  • visit the cider mill
  • learn about cider production
  • overview of diversified farming at Critz Farms
  • one small jug of cider per child*

Pumpkin Farm Tours

End of September to End of October (level: Preschool–3rd grade) 

Tour is roughly two hours long and includes information about:

  • honey bees and pollination (active hive)
  • pick your own pumpkins with hayride
  • farm animals – calf, goats, bunnies, ponies, llamas, and more
  • growth and development of pumpkins
  • overview of diversified farming at Critz Farms
  • one small pumpkin per child

Educational Farm Tours for Adults or Special Groups

At Critz Farms we are experienced in designing special tours to meet the needs of a wide range of groups. We welcome visits from groups of all sizes and people of all ages. Please contact the farm, and we’ll work with you to develop an interesting, educational, and fun Farm Tour Experience for your group!


Brewery / Cidery Tours

Offered by appointment only for groups of ten or more. Visitors can schedule weekday tours to get a behind-the-scene look into our production processes and a private guided tasting of our handcrafted ales and ciders. Unfortunately, weekend tours are not available at this time.

Please note

All tour start and stop times are pre-established. It is important that you arrive on time in order to have a complete tour. We can accommodate a shorter tour; however, visitors will not experience all that we have to offer.


In the fall, an indoor eating space is available by reservation for groups that want to bring a lunch to eat before or after the tour. A visit to our gift shop can also be arranged. Groups over the age of 21 can also visit the Tap Room as part of their tour.
