The 8-acre Corn Maze
"Johnny Appleseed" opens. This year's design features a giant sized Johnny with apples. Visitors to the maze will have the opportunity to win a prize by locating five of the seven stations inside the maze. At each station, maze-goers will be able to learn a little bit about Johnny Appleseed, Critz Farms apple varieties, and cider making.

The Critz Café opens for food service. Remains open weekend days 10-5. Check the Cafe page for the menu! Lots of delicious goodies including fritters, French fries and candied apples!

Kiddie Corral and Slide Mountain Playgrounds open daily. These fenced areas have a 45 foot wooden train, a 17 foot wooden pirate ship, sand box, swing set, 22 foot tube slide and more.

Animal Area with Baby Bird Barn and over 25 animals open daily.

Visit the Critz Farms Hop House, a replica of the historic pyramidal hop kilns used in this area in the mid 1800's. Reserve the Hop House Gathering Room for your private fall party or event.

Big Toys for Big Girls and Boys Farm Equipment Show. Fundraiser for the Cazenovia FFA. Sponsored by Empire Tractor of Cazenovia and the Caz FFA. Actually drive a great big tractor! Climb into the driver’s seat of some other really big farm and construction equipment! Local farmers, construction companies and equipment dealers donate the use of their tractors, harvesters, combines, tractor-trailers, etc. We have some special activities in store!

Special Evening Event! Saturday, September 22nd

Critz Farms Moonlight ~ Flashlight Night and Family Barn Dance

Try the maze at night! Bring your own flashlight and we'll supply the map! We will be offering evening hayrides, the Gift Shop will be open, and the barn will be hoppin' to the sounds of the Blue Valley Boys. The Critz Cafe will also be open, so come for dinner, music and adventure! This is a family event and promises to be fun for all ages. Teens and children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

This special event runs from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Admission is $5.00 per person. Season passes will not be accepted for entry.

Saturday, November 24 and Sunday November 25

Critz Farms Thanksgiving Squeeze! For two days only, November 24th and 25th, Critz Farms will produce the last sweet apple cider of the season! Cider making demonstrations from 11:00-4:00. See the 120 year old antique press in action- watch and learn about how cider is made. Free tastings. Hot apple cider mini donuts and jugs of sweet cider for sale. Family fun on the farm includes Christmas tree sales, wagon rides, gift shop, food and a visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus at 1:00 Sunday 11/25. Free admission. Farm open 9-6.

Sunday, November 25th

Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus come to Critz Farms! -- Santa and Mrs. Claus will arrive by horse drawn wagon at 1:00. Belgian horse drawn wagon rides with Santa and Mrs. Claus will be offered from 1:00 - 2:00, weather permitting, and then Santa and "the Mrs." will meet farm visitors in the gift shop. Children will have the chance to sit on Santa's lap and tell their holiday wishes. Santa's visit 1:00-4:00. Farm and gift shop open from 9-6. Critz Café open 9-5. Christmas tree cutting, tractor drawn wagon rides, cider making demonstrations and more. Free admission and free candy canes and cocoa or cider for kids!

DECEMBER

Daily through December 19th

December 20th--- We are closed for the season. Thanks very much for your business! However, if you still haven't gotten your tree, we do allow self serve cut-your-own or pre-cut tree and wreath sales in the barn from December 21-24. The farm office and gift shop will be closed, and there are no services, hayrides, or balers.

Winter 2007-2008

We will be closed for the season from just before Christmas through early March. Thank you very much for your business, and we look forward to seeing you in the spring!

Maple Syrup Celebration . We will be open for maple syrup production. Come by the farm and watch how maple syrup is made. Enjoy our All-You-Can-Eat Breakfast Buffet from 9-1. Fresh, homemade maple syrup will be available for tasting and for sale. Sugar House tours and hay rides to the sugarbush are offered from 9-3.

There is NOT an admission charge during the Maple Season.

March 18th

Educational Farm Tours begin. Group tours available Tuesdays and Thursdays by appointment. Curriculum includes pre and post tour activities and information for teachers and group leaders, structured lesson and tour, as well as a sample bottle of syrup for participants. Cost $4.00 per person. Call the farm for more information or to schedule a tour.

March 22nd and 23rd

Maple Weekend in New York State is a special time when syrup producers statewide invite visitors to their sugar houses to learn more about the art (and science) of maple syrup production. After visiting Critz Farms, take time to visit some of the other area Sugarmakers. Mid April (depending on the weather)

Seedlings and transplants sales start. Four to five year old blue, white, and Norway spruce, and white pine are available. 14-24 inch bare root seedlings. Bundles of 25 transplants for $29.95. Available 7 days a week.

For wholesale prices on commercial quantities (minimum 500), please contact us at the farm.

Farm fresh maple syrup will be available self-serve in the main barn.

Summer 2008

JUNE- JULY-AUGUST

Plan your unique Farm Tour Party at Critz Farms this summer. Any kind of celebration from family reunions to birthdays to company picnics. We can help you plan your party around one of our seasonal crops, or just enjoy the beautiful farm setting. Incorporate a hayride and a little informational tour for something different. Call the office or send an e-mail for more information!

All summer long...Enjoy the Kiddie Corral Playground any time. Visitors are always welcome! Be sure to stop and see the animals too!
